We have been retained by our client On for the 5th year running to promote On running shoes within consumer sports, lifestyle and trade media in the UK.
The challenge is to drive traffic from the UK to the On website, to position On as a credible running shoe brand and to tell the On business, technology and design story. We’re also responsible for supporting retailer sell-through and support opening new accounts.
We secure regular coverage of On shoes in the core sports media via product testing and reviews. The reach is widened by securing coverage in a variety of lifestyle media and on key blogs. We seed the shoes to industry influencers to create a social media buzz and increase product demand.
To date* we have secured a total of 250 pieces of coverage, maintaining an average of 5 pieces per month across trade, consumer sport, lifestyle and blogs. Celebrities including Jodie Kidd, Vernon Kay and Dermot O’Leary have been seen in the media wearing On shoes. Traffic from the UK to the On website has increased strongly over this 5 year period.
We started working with On in 2011. At the time we worked successfully to launch On running shoes into the UK market. On, based in Zurich, Switzerland continues to grow apace. The On running shoe is distributed in more than 25 countries in Europe, the US and Asia-Pacific. We have a long-term partnership with On to establish their products in the UK.
We handle all UK PR media relations for On and manage a product seeding programme. One-off tasks have included event sponsorship at The London Duathlon & Richmond Park Marathon and exhibition presence at TCR, The London Marathon Expo, The London Running Show & The London Triathlon Expo. We organised the athlete and team sponsorship programme in the UK and developed promotional initiatives for retailers.
