The motive8 group comprises of three areas to its business – gym and spa design, personal training and coaching. Our brief was to set up a shop to service the whole group which would sell a portfolio of products from preferred suppliers – tried and tested by motive8 experts.

motive8 is an established client of Aspire and we have supported them on their marketing strategy and implementation for four years. In this time, the company has grown impressively, broadening its reach and diversifying its business.

The motive8 shop is the most recent development for the company. The product range is wholly recommended by motive8’s own experts – from personal trainers to Pilates instructors through to nutritionists and gym design specialists. Aspire worked closely with the motive8 team on the product range and introduced them to new suppliers through its contacts within the sports and leisure industries.  The shop’s range expanded from 0-600 products in 3 months to guarantee a comprehensive starting range.

Aspire supported in the creation of the shop’s graphics and ensured the customer journey was simple. The backend website engine was developed by a third party web agency, who were project managed by Aspire. A photo shoot took place to provide the shop with an image bank, with the aim being to use motive8’s own imagery where possible. In most cases, the fulfillment of the shop is handled directly by the suppliers – with the long-term plan of having a motive8 warehouse to house and fulfill orders direct.

The initial 3-month marketing plan was set out to spread awareness and to drive sales amongst the motive8 client base. motive8’s 40 staff were split into teams and given an incentive to hit a team sales target. An initial email campaign targeted motive8’s existing customer database with special offers and recommended products. Regular product promotions and news are now sent to the motive8 database.

In the long term the plan is to expand the number of motive8 branded products – an adult range will compliment the children’s motive8 hoodies and to supply gyms withmMotive8 branded products at a competitive price. There will be a launch event for the shop – with fashion show – for motive8’s many friends, clients and media contacts. The motive8 Shop – with its edited collection of health and fitness products – aims to reach out to new customers and to grow sales through its existing loyal customer base.
