Warp & Weft approached us to work with them on the design and build of a new website. They required a responsive site that would be easy to update and maintain in house. The centrepiece to the site would be an image-filled portfolio of their work. Their aim through the website was to attract new business and to better service current and dormant clients. In addition to the website we developed a digital marketing plan for them to implement.
Initially we looked at competitor websites, sites we liked within the interiors industry and sites we admired for functionality and design. From this research we created the brief for our designer. In addition to the Portfolio section we wanted to reveal the company ethos, the team behind Warp & Weft and the unique way in which they work. We planned a photo shoot to capture supporting images for the site’s image bank. On the one-day shoot we took employee portraits, portfolio extras, inspiration shots and behind the scenes photos of hand and machine sewing.
Aspire project managed the entire process from the design stage through to the website build. We set up Twitter @carpetgeeks, created and populated an account on Pinterest, developed a content plan and created a Mailchimp account with templates to set Warp & Weft up on their social media journey. The site launched on deadline, in time for the Warp & Weft team to showcase their new website at their main trade exhibition The Surface Design Show in Islingtonin February 2015.
